It's a long time dream of mine to visit Di Fara in Brooklyn. It is deemed to be one of the best pizza in all of New York! The owner and pizza maker, Domenico De Marco is over 85 years old and has been making his pizza for generations now! It's such a great experience to watch him make every single pie himself. He tears the mozzarella in big chunks by hand and cuts fresh basil over every pizza after it comes out of the oven. It's wonderful! He makes two types of pizza, one being the thin crust Napoletana style pizza and also a square Sicilian style pizza. You can buy pizza by the slice or by the pie in either style. We were a big group of six NY foodies so we of course tried one of each! Both were delicious but I have to stick with my roots and say that I prefer the Napoletana style. Forza!
